This is the fourth and final blog of the book One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest. In the end Nurse Ratched leads Billy, leading to his suicide, McMurphy becomes a Christ figure for the patients in the ward. McMurphy makes a sacrifice to make sure that Ratched can’t use Billy’s death to undo everything they have gained. Though the nurse tries to give McMurphy a fate worse than death, Bromden dignifies McMurphy by killing him, which means he would always be a symbol of resistance to the patients of the hospital ward.
I think this book was very interesting. The characters are what made it most interesting. Also, Nurse Ratched because you really never knew what she was going to do next. Bromden and McMurphy also gave much foreshadowing of the story for example McMurphy starting to feel weak in part three of this book.
I enjoyed reading the story and having class discussions about each Part of this book. Also by reading it aloud in the classroom that gave me a good look on what was going on and questions that were asked.
